Primetime Emmy Awards 2010 Winners Walk The Red Carpet With Glory

Aug 30, (THAINDIAN NEWS) The Primetime Emmy Awards 2010 saw ABC sitcom “Modern Family” taking away many of the highly coveted awards. Even “Mad Men” managed to nab some of the prestigious awards for the contribution and outstanding performances in the television series. Last night was the highly anticipated Primetime Emmy Award 2010 which took place in Nokia Theater, in Los Angeles, California.
The annual award ceremony kicked off last night with former “Saturday Night Live” host Jimmy Fallon. There had been predictions all over the web about the winners of much anticipated Emmy Awards 2010. It seemed that this year televisions underdogs and newcomers ruled the Emmy Awards 2010 like ABC comedy “Modern Family” and HBO movie “Temple Grandin” picking up many of the major awards of the night. The cast members of “Glee” joined Jimmy Fallon in the opening song and it featured cameos by Kate Gosselin, Betty White, Jon Hamm, and Tina Fey. “Mad Men” won award for Outstanding Drama series and “Modern Family” won for Outstanding Comedy Series. HBO productions, “Temple Grandin” and “The Pacific,” won Emmys for Outstanding Made for Television Movie and Outstanding Miniseries, respectively.
Eric Stonestreet of “Modern Family” won award for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series and Jane Lynch won for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series. Ryan Murphy bagged award for the best director in a comedy series. Stage and screen veteran Edie Falco won the Emmy for Lead Actress in a Comedy Series for her performance in “Nurse Jackie.” Jim Parsons of “The Big Bang Theory” was awarded the Outstanding Actor In A Comedy. The veteran actor George Clooney was awarded the Bob Hope Humanitarian Award for his efforts to raise funds and his awareness for victims of several major conflicts and natural disasters in the past such as Darfur and Hurricane Katrina.
