‘Pretty Woman’ voted top V-Day movie
February 11th, 2010 - 1:23 am ICT by IANSLondon, Feb 10 (IANS) Julia Roberts-starrer “Pretty Woman” has been voted the top Valentine’s Day movie in a new poll.
The 1990 romance was chosen by over 3,500 men and women, beating other mushy movies like “Four Weddings And A Funeral”, “Sleepless In Seattle” and “Notting Hill” in a Radio Times poll, reports mirror.co.uk.
“What develops here is a modern-day fairy tale, a cross between Pygmalion and Cinderella for a raunchier age, an endearing love story in which masculine and feminine wish fulfilment are made celluloid,” said noted film critic Barry Norman.
“Four Weddings And A Funeral”, starring Hugh Grant and Andie MacDowell, took second place.
Other films that made it to the top 10 included “When Harry Met Sally”, “Some Like It Hot” and “Amelie”.
