Pretty Little Liars Hits American TV Atlast!

America’s guiltiest pleasure hit TV screens on June 8. ABC’s ‘Pretty Little Liars’ has been one of the most anticipated shows this summer for its spicy promos and hot posters.
The series is based on Sara Shepherd’s book ‘Pretty Little Liars’ that tells the story of four rich high school girls who are plagued by an unknown character who is associated with the disappearance of their best friend. The mysterious character sends them a text threatening to reveal their deepest and darkest secrets.
The four girls comprise of Aria Montgomery played by Lucy Hale who is a confident young girl who is dealing with a lot of issues at home. In an interview Lucy Hale revealed that the character is having a tough time trying to cope with the fact that her father is cheating on her mom.
Hanna Marin, played by Ashley Benson plays another Pretty Little Liar in the series. She becomes the college’s queen bee after the disappearance of their best friend. She is also secretly dealing with an eating disorder. Spencer Hastings (Troian Bellisario) is the third amongst the girls who struggles to overcome the shadow cast by her perfect sister Melissa. Emily Fields (Shay Mitchell) plays a girl who is struggling with her sexuality.
The show appears to have all the right elements of ‘I Know What You Did Last Summer’ with a sprinkle of ‘Gossip Girl’ and a splash of ‘Desperate Housewives’ put in .
The creators of the show also said that even the parents are going to like the show in spite of its dark undertone and typical teenage stuff.
