‘Premism’ Shoots in Chhattisgarh
August 7th, 2009 - 12:01 pm ICT by Sampurn Wire“Premism’ becomes the first Indian regional language film to shoot in Chhattisgarh. Produced by Ajay Gowda, a sequence of the film was shot at the Chitrakoota falls and Thirathghat falls near Jagadalpur. The falls bear a striking resemblance to America’s Niagara Falls.
The waterfall adds to the beauty of the film. A song from the film featuring actors Amoolya, Chetan Chandra, Varun was shot at the tip of the waterfalls. Hoysala Devaraj, the choreographer, trained the artists for 15 days to avoid wasting time.
Actress Amoolya (from Cheluvina Chittara), remembers the difficulties they came across while shooting for the song because of the steep falls. Director Rathnaja was very keen on this location for the shoot of the song, “Sa.Ga.Ma.Pa Ni, Sa…Ukkuthide Prema….’ because he had seen the place about six years ago and decided to use it for his film.
The music director, Hamsalekha, has done full justice to the songs, Arashina Kumkuma, the traditional song, a song on the nature of people living in Mysore, the peppy Hodi Line song and Panchabootha, the title song.
