August 30, 2010 (Sampurn Wire): The Guns N’ Roses’ concert at the popular Reading Festival set ended abruptly and amidst much chaos on 27th August after the band’s sound was cut after they overran their scheduled time by more than an hour.

The band, took to the stage at 10:30pm, when actually they were to take the stage more than an hour back. The band was to play the headlining slot. The festival organizer Melvin Benn had already told them, that they cannot play beyond 11:30 pm, but they still played way past midnight and left stage only after playing their classic ‘Night Train’.

The band soon returned for an encore, but this time the fans were disappointed since the sound was cut off. The band wasn’t to give up soon and even tried to launch into a blistering rendition of ‘Paradise City’, and couldn’t play the song, due to the fact that their sound was cut off completely. Only the drums could be heard.

The crowd started to sing the song and the band’s leader Axl Rose made an attempt to greet audience members as he sang through a megaphone. The band continued such a “performance’ for about five minutes, before they took their final bow and exited the stage.
