Potter star Afshan Azad to testify against father, brother in death threat case
August 24th, 2010 - 3:22 pm ICT by ANILondon, Aug 24 (ANI): British actress Afshan Azad, who played Padma Patil in movie Harry Potter, is set to be called to give evidence at the trial of her father and brother, who have been accused of threatening to kill her.
The 22-year-old actress’ father, Abul Azad, 54, and her brother, Ashraf Azad, 22, both from Longsight, Manchester, were accused of making the threat in May, the Scotsman reported.
Ashraf Azad is also accused of assault, occasioning actual bodily harm, in Longsight on the same date.
Both men entered not guilty pleas to the charges at Manchester Crown Court, and were let out on bail on the condition that they live at their home address in Longsight.
They have also been told not to contact the actress, and not to travel to London. (ANI)
