Mumbai, June 8 (IANS) After their daily soap “Kyunkii Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thhi”, Smriti Irani and Sudha Shivpuri once again team up for the comedy series “Maniben.com”.
“We needed an actor who was calm and close to reality and could be loved and associated with for a character on the same lines and she perfectly suited the role. I’m glad I could work again with her,” Smriti told IANS.

While Smriti plays the main lead, Sudha Shivpuri will be seen as her neighbour’s mother-in-law in “Maniben.com” starting Monday on Sab TV.

Shahid Kapur to give IIFA a miss

Shahid Kapur has pulled out of attending the upcoming Indian International Film Academy (IIFA) awards in Macau due to an incomplete patchwork shoot for an untitled film by Ken Ghosh.

“I was looking forward to performing at IIFA and showcasing ‘Kaminey’. However, my commitment to my producer has to be honoured. I regret being unable to attend this year” Shahid said in a statement.

The actor, who plays a double role in “Kaminey” and is paired with Priyanka Chopra, was also supposed to perform at the event to promote the film but had to cancel it at the eleventh hour.

I’m a James Bond with double chin: Anurag Kashyap

Bollywood writer-director Anurag Kashyap, who debuts on TV as a host for a series of documentaries on popular Hollywood icons, says when he donned a tuxedo to get into the skin of British super spy James Bond, he was set apart from the sleuth by his “double-chin”.

“The documentaries are no less than movies and I dress up like the icon I talk about on the show whether it is James Bond or Indian Jones… when I dressed up in a tux impersonating the super spy, I actually felt like a James Bond with a double chin,” Kashyap told IANS.

Titled “True Stories”, the show will showcase real life inspirations behind movie icons like Al Capone, Frank Morris and Indiana Jones, apart from Bond.

It will premiere Thursday on Fox History & Entertainment channel.
