Portia de Rossi petitions the LA Court as she wants to take on Ellen DeGeneres’ last name

Los Angeles, Aug 10 (THAINDIAN NEWS) Portia de Rossi and Ellen DeGeneres’ relationship does seem to be going strong, because Portia now wants to legally take on Ellen’s last name.
And in this regard Portia also filed a petition in the Los Angeles Superior Court to legally change her name to Portia Lee James DeGeneres. The petition was filed in the court last week, according to reports. The scheduled hearing in this regard is set to take place on the 23rd of September and then only Portia’s new name will be deemed legal.
The past week was a joyous occasion for Ellen and her partner Portia because the judge over-ruled against the gay marriage ban in California. After the happy verdict, Portia couldn’t contain her excitement and tweeted on the popular social networking and micro blogging site Twitter that, “I am ecstatic that Proposition 8 has been overturned in the state of California. This is an incredibly exciting and historical day and a big step towards equal rights for all.”
It may be recalled that Portia and Ellen had gotten married on the 16th of August two years ago, in the presence of close friends and family members, which also included both their mothers.
