Portia de Rossi & Ellen DeGeneres to come out with a comedy show

New York, Sept 12 (THAINDIAN NEWS) Portia de Rossi and partner Ellen DeGeneres will come out with a comedy show on NBC. The show was not named in the report by the LA Times. NBC is however said to have ordered for the pilot of the show.

The show stars de Rossi and DeGeneres as sisters. The talk show host is also the executive producer of the show. Deadline.com reports that several networks engaged in bidding war to have the comedy show. At the end of the process, NBC came up on top and got the right to the show.

The show is written by Don Todd who is also the co-writer of the show “Samantha Who?” De Rossi‚Äôs last project on television was “Better Off Ted.” The show was axed following the poor ratings of the show.

De Rossi and DeGeneres got married in a ceremony which was attended by fewer than 10 people. De Rossi is an Australian actress and she only came public with her sexual orientation in 2005. She previously was involved with singer Francesca Gregorini.

De Rossi and DeGeneres currently live in a mansion in Beverly Hills. A petition by de Rossi to have her name changed to Portia Lee James DeGeneres was granted on the 23rd September 2010.
