Los Angeles, Jan 19 (THAINDIAN NEWS) A new measure in Los Angeles may result in the boycott of the major porn players in the industry in the city. Los Angeles is considered the porn capital in the United States.

LA authorities are in the process to introduce a new law which will require porn filmmakers to ensure the safety of the actors. The new measure will mean producers will have to produce condoms for the male actors. The proposal is currently before Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa. His signature will effectively make the proposal a law in the city.

Vivid is one of the largest makers of porn in Los Angeles. Co-chairman of the company, Steven Hirsch, told reporters that, “It’s going to be interesting to see how in fact they do try to enforce it and who’s going to fund it, and all of the time and effort they’re going to spend. Ultimately I think what they will find is people will just stop shooting in the city of Los Angeles.”

The council in LA has currently formed a committee that will advise on how the new law will be implemented. Almost all US porn films are made in Los Angeles. According to Adult Video News, about 90 percent of all the porn movies made in the United States are made in Los Angeles.
