Pop singers are not shallow: Katy Perry

London, March 20 (IANS) Actress-singer Katy Perry has hit out at critics who think pop music is too shallow.
“When you write a pop song, people think, ‘Ok your pop songs are pop songs’ and they are really whatever. But if you listen to the lyrics, each line has a meaning and purpose,” dailystar.co.uk quoted her as saying.
“Basically, what I’m trying to say is that I’m super deep,” she she told Radio 1’s Fearne Cotton.
