Michael Jackson LOS ANGELES (BNO NEWS) — Michael Jackson’s physician is being sought after “The King of Pop” unexpectedly died on Thursday afternoon, police officials told BNO News. A BNO News source identified the doctor as Conrad R. Murray.

On Thursday, the doctor’s car was impounded from the pop star’s home, according to the Los Angeles Police Department. A spokesman refused to say if there were any suspicious circumstances surrounding Jackson’s death but stressed there was no criminal investigation at this time.

He said the physician was being sought because he may provide valuable information into his death and added that a death certificate was not yet signed. “His car was impounded because it may contain medication or other evidence which may assist the coroner in determining the cause of death,” he said.

The spokesman, who could not release the name of the doctor, said no search or arrest warrant had been issued. BNO News sources, however, identified the doctor as Dr. Conrad Robert Murray with the Acres Home Heart and Vascular Institute in Houston, Texas. He is reported to have lived with the pop star.

A woman who picked up the phone at the institute refused to comment on the doctor. Dr. Murray is a cardiologist and is reported to own the Global Cardiovascular Association in Las Vegas, Nevada. He had more than 17 years experience, according to one medical website.

“Dr. Murray is an amazing man. he is kind, honest and takes time in explaining just what it is that may be wrong,” one review from Donna Lyn Digiacomo read. “He is an excellent cardiologist and shows so much concern for each and every single patient that sees him,” she added. “Anyone who is in his care, you are in great hands.”
