June 12, 2010 (Pen Men at Work): Recently, a lot of news has been written on Shawn King’s alleged ‘suicide attempt’ last month. Now, the police has confirmed the incident to be a ‘suicidal attempt’ after a lot of investigation.

Shawn King, the 50 year old wife of CNN talk show host Larry King, consumed a number of pills of, hormone replacement, muscle relaxers and sleeping pills. As reported earlier, she was found unconscious by her father and later the paramedics rescued her at the last moment.

Even though, her father termed the overdose as an accidental one, it is known that Shawn has been suffering from prescription addiction.

However, the police could not confirm the notes found near her body to be in her handwriting.

According to a police report, “I found some pieces of paper, which indicated that she was leaving or she might hurt herself. She also expressed her desire to be buried in Utah.”

Police could not confirm the handwriting to be hers but the content indicated it had to be her.

Larry King seemed shocked at this incident. Recently, both of them agreed to continue to stay together after filing a divorce paper in April.

In his statement, Larry said, “I support her from the core of my heart. I love her very much and the reports of our fighting are totally baseless. We are still together and will fight this difficult situation together as a family. I love my children very much and they are very close to me.”

Shawn’s father said that she would never hurt herself or try to kill herself even though she was always depressed.

On the night, when he called 911, the operator asked, if she had taken the pills deliberately, her father said, “I don’t think she has done it intentionally. She is not at all suicidal but she may have overmedicated. She seemed confused last night about what she had taken.”

We wish, the love of Larry and her children can take her out of this depression!
