Police Arrest Willie Nelson For Pot Possession

Willie NelsonNov 28, (THAINDIAN NEWS) Legendary singer and songwriter Willie Nelson was arrested last Friday for possessing six ounces of marijuana by the Border Police of Sierra Blanca. The police said that country singer was charged with the pot possession and if convicted he would have to spend 180 days in prison. Willie Nelson paid $2,500 bond and then he was later freed from County jail.

A reputed media source reported that Willie Nelson was traveling from California to his home near Austin where the U.S. Border Patrol in Sierra Blanca officials pulled his bus for a routine check up. On Friday morning, one of the officers found out a suspicious smell coming out of the bus. After the police found out six ounces of marijuana in his bus, Willie Nelson admitted that the marijuana belonged to him. Mickey Raphael, who is Willie Nelson’s long time harmonica player told a reputed media source that the singer feels great that he has lost six ounces.

Hudspeth County Sheriff Arvin West said that along with the country legend, three other men were arrested. The official also added that Willie Nelson would be treated like any other prisoners if the judge orders him to serve time at the Hudspeth County jail. Arvin West, reportedly, said that he is going to make the Grammy award-winning singer clean and cook at the prison like any other normal person. Meanwhile, Willie Nelson’s spokesperson, Elaine Schock declined to comment anything about the whole incident. Willie Nelson is a co-chair of the National Organization for the Reform of Marijuana Laws (NORML) advisory board and he has always spoken in favor of legalization of marijuana.
