Polanski returns to work with ‘God Of Carnage’
July 15th, 2010 - 2:10 pm ICT by IANSLos Angeles, July 15 (IANS) After being released from house arrest, filmmaker Roman Polanski is set to return to work with the big-screen adaptation of the hit French play “God Of Carnage”.
Polanski has been working with “God of Carnage” playwright Yasmina Reza since 2009 for its adaptation into a movie.
“The shoot is planned in early 2011. The location has not yet been chosen, but since Roman only has the right to go to Poland, Switzerland and France, there is a good chance the shoot will be close-by,” imdb.com. quoted Reza as saying.
“We had already talked about it before his arrest. The real work started when he was under house arrest in his chalet in Gstaad, where I went several times.
“We wrote the script of the film together. Then when we had finished, we gave it to someone to translate, because the action of the play will be transferred to Brooklyn and the film will be made in English,” Reza added.
Polanski, pleaded guilty to unlawful sex with a 13-year-old girl in 1977, had been under house arrest since December 2009 at his mountain chalet in the chic ski town of Gstaad, his movements constrained by an electronic foot bracelet.
He was freed Monday by Swiss Justice Minister Eveline Widmer-Schlumpf.
