Polanski honoured at France’s prestigious Lumiere Awards
January 18th, 2011 - 5:21 pm ICT by ANILondon, Jan 18 (ANI): Roman Polanski was honoured with a lifetime achievement award at France’s prestigious Lumiere Awards on Friday.
The veteran moviemaker, who attended the award as the guest of honour, also received a number of prizes for his latest film, ‘The Ghost Writer,’ reports the Daily Express.
He accepted the event’s tribute award at the ceremony in Paris, where his political thriller, starring Pierce Brosnan, scooped the night’s top film prize.
‘The Ghost Writer’ shared the honour with Xavier Beauvois’ drama ‘Of Gods and Men.’
Polanski also received an award for direction and another for screenwriting, jointly with co-writer Robert Harris. (ANI)
