Pleasing killed Hathaway’s relationship

London, June 29 (IANS) Hollywood actress Anne Hathaway, who dated Raffaello Follieri for four years, reveals the urge to please her partner led to their break-up.
Anne, who is currently dating actor Adam Shulman, ended her four-year relationship with Follieri amid shocking fraud allegations in 2008.
“There’s something very addictive about people pleasing. It’s a thought pattern and a habit that feels really, really good until it becomes desperate. It’s one of the reasons that (my) relationship ended. I wasn’t able to grow or foster anything. I think a lot of girls have that story,” contactmusic.com quoted her as saying.
The actress says now her own needs are a priority
“It’s a big moment when you step away from that and say, ‘I’m going to be exactly who I am’. And I’m going to be brave enough to only be with someone who wants me the way I am.”
