Pink Floyd Anthem Rewritten
August 7th, 2010 - 12:05 am ICT by Sampurn WireAugust 6, 2010 (Sampurn Wire): The iconic song “Another Brick in the Wall’ by the legendary Pink Floyd has been rewritten by a band from Canada. This has been done in order to echo the dissent young Iranians have for their administration.
The song changes the lyrics a bit and the teacher reference is changed to “Hey, Ayatollah, leave those kids alone!’
The rewritten song is performed by a Toronto-based rock band. Incidentally, this band is comprised of a couple of Iranian siblings. The band is called Blurred Vision. It has enjoyed more than 160,000 views on YouTube since it was uploaded.
Pink Floyd member Roger Waters gave permission to Blurred Vision to utilize the song.
Each and every earnings will go to the Amnesty International. In Iran it’s illegal to play rock music and Blurred Vision wants to voice the anger, angst, and disappointment of the Iranian youth. They are rebelling against the government via the song.
