New York, May 4 (THAINDIAN NEWS) Music producer Phil Spector failed to get his murder conviction overturned. Spector was sentenced to 19 years to life after he was found guilty of killing actress Lana Clarkson in 2003. The first conviction was given in 2009.

Spector appealed against the earlier ruling of the court arguing that some of the witnesses should not have been allowed to testify at the trial. The appeal was filed at the California appeals court. Five women were called by the prosecution witness during the trial. The women testified that Spector pulled a gun on them.

The three judges who sat on the case agreed with the prosecution that the testimony of the five women were crucial to the case. Part of the ruling said the evidence by the women showed that when Spector was provoked by a woman he has sexual interest while intoxicated, he has a tendency to lose his control.

Spector is credited with originating the “Wall of Sound” production technique. He has also worked with stars like Ike, Tina Turner, the Beatles and others. His romance with Clarkson ended in tragedy when she was found dead in the mansion of Spector on the 3rd of February 2003. Clarkson is famous for her role in the 1985 movie “Barbarian Queen.”
