Peter Jackson In Discussions To Don The Mantle Of Directorship Of ‘The Hobbit’

June 27, 2010 (Pen Men at Work): Peter Jackson is the brains behind ‘Lord Of The Rings’. He, purportedly, is in deliberations now to come back to Middle Earth and embrace the directorship of ‘The Hobbit’ movies.

Jackson is taking into consideration the thought of stepping in and substituting the Mexican, Guillermo del Toro. Toro had departed from the project (The Hobbit) in the previous month. Toro had indicated that there were scheduling difficulties. Toro had disengaged himself from the project on account of constant postponements in a commencement date for filming.

‘The Hobbit’ is a project that is of the value of $209 million reportedly. Filming is likely to commence in January 2011 and the earliest expected date of discharge is 2012.

Websites have articulated that Jackson had a meeting with studio representatives at the commencement of June to set in motion the quest for a new director.

The news of the possibility of Peter Jackson attaining the directorship of ‘The Hobbit’ has arrived just days after the moviemaker, David Yates, had ridiculed reports that he has consented to direct the jinxed prequel.

Earlier this month, it was gossiped that District 9 director, Neill Blomkamp, would be the person, who would be the replacement for del Toro.
