Peter Jackson hospitalized with stomach ulcer
January 27th, 2011 - 3:18 pm ICT by ANIWellington, Jan 27 (ANI): Sir Peter Jackson has been hospitalized with a perforated stomach ulcer.
The Oscar-winning film director was admitted to Wellington Hospital last night with acute stomach pains, reports Stuff.co.nz.
In a statement, Sir Peter’s production company said that he has undergone surgery for the same.
“Sir Peter is currently resting comfortably and his doctors expect him to make a full recovery.”
According to the statement, Sir Peter’s surgery is not expected to impact on his directing commitment to ‘The Hobbit’ beyond a slight delay to the start of filming.
His spokesman, Matt Dravitzki, confirmed the filmmaker was location scouting in the Queenstown area before filming starts next month, and that crews were also looking for sites in the North Island. (ANI)
