Peter Chung Speaks About His 3D Animated Flick “Firebreather”

fireNov 25, (THAINDIAN NEWS) CGI animated film “Firebreather” debuted on cartoon network on November 24. The much anticipated movie is directed by Peter Chung and it is base on the book of same name by Phil Hester and Andy Kuhn. The animated flick has received good reviews from the critics and it has been liked by the children as well.

“Firebreather” is about a teenage named Duncan who is born from a human mother and Belloc father. Bellocs are generally 120 feet monster kings who breathes fire. Peter Chung spoke about his movie in one of his interviews where he explained various facets of his 3D animated flicks and at the same time he explained how making a 3D movie is different from a 2D work. Peter Chung said that after spending a long time in the adult animation it feels nice to get back to the children’s shows. He said that the whole experience is good as he started his career with the children’s movies. Speaking about the character Belloc he said that he made the character to represent certain facet of a certain kind of a person or tendency which we generally see everyday.

Peter Chung said that a 2D movie is much different from a 3D flick and specially the textures in a 2D movie will have to flat but not in case of a 3D movie. However, he also said that mostly the directors make mistakes of moving the camera too much in a 3D animated movie which he avoided. “Firebreather” featured more iconic imageries with strong silhouettes, strong shapes and strong poses and the audience loved the whole movie for its balanced presentation. In the end Peter Chung said that “Firebreather” is an “accessible” story with emotional presentation and it would definitely be a visual treat for the viewers.
