London, Jan 3 (THAINDIAN NEWS) One of Britain’s most iconic movie stars has passed away. Pete Postlethwaite was 65 years old and he died after a long battle with cancer on the 2nd day of January.

Incredibly, even though he was sick, yet Pete was still working. He managed to appear in about three movies in 2010. He had a distinct cheek-bony face that he later admitted was one of the reasons why he became so successful in his acting career.

The actor had a lot to say for his various roles. After starring in The Lost World: Jurassic Park, the renowned director, Spielberg commended that Pete was the best actor in the world.

On the dark side, Pete had an interesting history. He has been smoking since he was just 10 years old. That habit got him in trouble when he battled cancer for most of his adulthood. Though he survived a two decade battle with the disease, he had another bout with the disease and eventually lost his life to it.

Throughout his life, Pete maintained that death should be the ultimate adviser to everyone. He said that each day should be lived as the last and therefore lived fully. He did that to the very end.

He is survived by his wife, his son and a daughter.
