Pete Doherty’s puffy face leaves pals fearing for his health

London, Jun 3 (ANI): Even though ‘Babyshambles’ frontman Pete Doherty is said to have cleaned up his act, his recent bloated appearance at a gig has left his friends fearing for his health.
Doherty, 30, was performing at the new Shine Night at London’s The Den & Centro, formerly known as The End, and his familiar eye bags, puffy face, clammy flesh and frantic antics of the past resurfaced.
He is said to have performed a few songs downstairs, screaming into the microphone and looking anxious, before retreating to a tiny room upstairs.
It was later discovered that the sound equipment had failed, but the singer valiantly continued without a microphone, which made him sweat and wail.
“There’s no wonder poor Pete was sweaty and anxious,” the Daily Star quoted an insider as saying.
“But he did a sterling job, considering all the technical difficulties, and gave us a great show,” the insider said.
His spokesman insisted that everything went fine, even though there were minor glitches.
“Pete arrived at the gig on time. He went on stage and the mic was not working,” he said.
“He carried on regardless and did his best. Stuff like that happens, especially at smaller gigs and Pete understands that,” he added. (ANI)
