Pete Doherty ‘arrested for DUI, drug possession’June 12th, 2009 - 1:41 pm ICT by ANI
Washington, June 12 (ANI): English musician Pete Doherty has reportedly been arrested for allegedly possessing drug and driving under the influence.
The Babyshambles frontman was taken into custody in the early hours of June 11 from Gloucester, South West England.
The evening before June 10, the 30-year-old musician had played a solo concert in front of 300 fans in the town’s Guildhall.
Less than 30 minutes after the show finished, Doherty, who has battled crack cocaine and heroin addiction, was in police custody.
“At approximately 12.30am officers on patrol in Eastgate Street saw a car being driven erratically, it continued down Barton Street and was stopped in Derby Road,” Contactmusic quoted a Gloucestershire Police spokesman as saying.
“A 30-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of drink driving, possession of drugs and failure to stop for police. He remains in custody at this time,” he added.
Doherty was recently arrested after he was allegedly found slumped in a plane toilet with a hypodermic needle during a British Airways flight from London to Geneva. (ANI)
