Washington, Dec 12 (ANI): The Humane Society of the United States (HSUS) closed down Pets of Bel Air, a high-end pet store that is often patronized by celebrities such as Paris Hilton and Britney Spears, for running its business without a licence.

According to HSUS, the store gets dogs from puppy mills in the Midwest.

They also found that it had been operating without a license for three years.

“We did shut [Pets of Bel Air] down and they have 48 hours to bring their permits into compliance,” People quoted Ed Boks, general manager of Los Angeles Animal Services, as saying.
Pets of Bel Air, which is known for its high-profile clientele, could not be reached for comment. (ANI)
