Jan 6, (THAINDIAN NEWS) It was the night of glamor, glitz and grandeur as who’s who of the entertainment industry walked the red carpet of 37th People’s Choice Awards last night. There were some spectacular performances and the star studded event saw the renowned celebrities taking home the much coveted trophy for their contribution in the entertainment industry. There were four categories like music, movies, television and online. Eminem and Rihanna stole the show with awards in their kitty for their song “Love the Way You Lie”. “Twilight” team bagged many awards of the night for the movie and also for their performances. The host of the night was Queen Latifah, who entertained the audience with her graceful style witty comments.

Queen Latifah started the show with a bang with the song “God Bless Saturday”. However, it was Selena Gomez, who stole the show with her mind blowing performance “A Year Without Rain”. The fans of United States voted for their favorite movies, online entertainers, stars and also music and CBS officials reported that 175 million votes were cast this year which is recorded as one of the highest. “Mine” singer Taylor Swift won the category of Favorite Country Artist and she thanked all her fans who voted for her for their love and support. “Keeping Up With the Kardashians” managed to beat MTV reality “Jersey Shore” and bagged the much coveted award of the night for the category of Favorite TV Guilty Pleasure.

Mesmerizing actor Johnny Depp received the award for the best actor of the year. Jane Lynch, the “Glee” star nabbed Favorite TV Comedy and Comedy Actress award. Conan O’Brien was received award for Favorite Talk Show Host of the Year. Overall, the gala event managed to keep the audience riveted to their seats.
