‘Is she or isn’t she?’, seems to be the question on a lot of minds lately. Oscar winner Penelope Cruz’s apparently fuller frame has seemingly sparked off a round of animated speculation as to whether or not the sensual Spanish beauty is headed the family way.

Grapevine began to bristle early in May this year, at the Cannes Film Festival, when the slight framed actor was photographed on the red carpet with what appeared to be slightly curvier than usual statistics. Of course reports of her falling ill at around that time, of a mysterious affliction stated merely as “food poisoning” didn’t seem to help slow down rumor-mills from going into overdrive.

With the on and off speculations showing no signs of subsiding, the recent New York Post photos of a visibly plumper Cruz and it’s attempt at piecing together the phantom baby puzzle, has renewed conjectures that the perceptible rounding could be attributed to the actor expecting her first child with current beau, actor Javier Bardem.

Meanwhile, the lovey-dovey duo has been photographed holidaying in the south of France, at U2 lead vocalist Bono’s swanky pad at Eze Sur Mer. The vacation photos have apparently only served to reemphasize the ongoing suppositions.

Representatives of Cruz have remained tight-lipped in the matter, refusing to comment. Cruz herself, has reportedly denied any such rumor, and has been quoted as saying on one occasion that she does in fact “want to have babies one day, but not right now” and that when she eventually did go for it, she wanted to do it right and make it “the best project” of her life.
