September 15, 2010 (Pen Men at Work): Noted star Penelope Cruz and Javier Bardem announced their pregnancy with the spokesperson of Cruz confirming the happy event. The Oscar winning film star is over four months pregnant said the announcement.

Penelope got married to Bardem in July at the house of a friend in Bahama. Cruz is 36 years old while Javier Bardem is all of 41. The couple had first acted together in the 2008 film ‘Jamon Jamon’ and has also featured together in ‘Vicky Cristina Barcelona’, a film by Woody Allen. Penelope had started dating the Spanish star Bardem in 2007 but it was all kept very ‘hush hush’ until they got married quietly.

Cruz had received the best actress award for her role in Vicky Cristina Barcelona’. She is expected to complete her shooting for the ‘Pirates of the Caribbean: on Stranger Tide’ which is taking place in London. Her husband, had also won the Oscar for his magnificent portrayal in the film,’ No Country For Old Men’.

Rumours of a Cruz baby had been doing the rounds for some time now and had been denied before. However, the photos featuring the pretty actress and Johnny Depp working on the ‘Pirates of the Caribbean’ series in Puerto Rico revealed a sizable baby bump. With the news of their first child being confirmed, their fans across the world are hoping that the kid will get to inherit the talent of his/her parents along with their devastating good looks.

Meanwhile, the ‘Eat, Pray and Love’ star Javier Bardem has gone up north to Canada for publicizing his next venture, ‘Biutiful’ at the ‘Toronto International Film Festival-2010’.
