Penelope Cruz All Set To Join Johnny Depp In “Pirates Of The Caribbean”

Reportedly, she will be paired opposite to Johnny deep a.k.a Captain Jack Sparrow essaying the role of his love interest.

The actress who has bagged an Academy award for her role in Vicky Cristina Barcelona is said to have been cast in the role of pirate Blackbeard’s (to be played by English actor Ian McShane) daughter in the movie “Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tide” which is the fourth flick in the popular series. The original members of the cast that included Orlando Bloom and Keira Knightley will not be a part of this project. Keira Knightley felt that her role in “Pirates Of Carribean” has achieved its completion with the trilogy itself and so she reportedly decided to opt out of the fourth project. However, Geoffrey Rush shall continue in the shoes of Captain Hector Barbossa.

“Pirates of the Caribbean: At World’s End” which was the third successful series of the trilogy ushered in a gross earning of $1 billion worldwide and is said to have been the fourth-highest gross earner in Hollywood till date. Both Penelope Cruz and Johnny Depp were first seen together on the silver screen in Ted Demme directed “Blow” where Penelope Cruz had played Johnny Deeps wife. English actor Ian McShane will play the baddie pirate Blackbeard who is also the father of Penelope Cruz in the movie. “Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides” will bedirected by Rob Marshall and the movie is slotted to be released next year in the United States.
