Aug 12, (THAINDIAN NEWS) Movie-buffs are well-acquainted with the fact that when a film hails from the production house of ace Bollywood actor Aamir Khan, the last thing that they can expect is another run-of-the mill flick. The latest offering by the renowned actor is “Peepli Live” which is scheduled to be released in theaters across the country on August 13. Even before its release, the much-anticipated film has already set records as it is supposedly the very first Indian non-commercial flick that would be screened in 600 theaters only in India while in the overseas market it would be shown in as many as 100 screens.

The hype that “Peepli Live” has been successful in generating has been quite extensive although the flick is devoid of any prominent Bollywood star. The upcoming movie basically tracks the story of a poor farmer in an Indian village who intends to take his own life to ensure that his family leads a better life with the money that would be granted by the government. However, the scenario takes a rather sad and at the same time, hilarious turn when it attracts huge attention from media as well as political circles with everyone intending to utilize the situation for their own advantage without giving any thought to the fate of the farmer.

“Peepli Live” is the fourth flick from the Aamir Khan’s production house and has been directed by debutante Anusha Rizvi. Apart from few Omkar Das Manikpuri, Malaika Shenoy, Raghuvir Yadav, Nawazuddin Siddiqui who edge some of the pivotal roles, the flick also stars a whole bunch of newcomers.
