Pee-wee Herman Makes An Onstage Comeback

weeLos Angeles, Jan 22, (THAINDIAN NEWS) Pee-wee Herman, the fictional character, who has entertained audiences for years, is back yet again after a period of almost two decades. All the fans of the Paul Reubens’ portrayed character are in for a treat as a new stage show featuring the popular fictional character opened in Club Nokia in Los Angeles, California.

The new “The Pee-wee Herman Show” which is being staged at Club Nokia, draws inspiration from the comedy artists original performances in the late 1970’s with The Groundlings, the Los Angeles comedy troupe.

While talking about the new revived version of the show and his return to the spotlight, the 57 year old much acclaimed comedy artist revealed that he was immensely excited to make the comeback after such a long period of time. Comedian Paul Reubens’ attempt to revive his comic creation is expected to be hugely welcomed by all the fans. At the same time, the stage show which is going to be held till February 7, is also likely to receive huge viewership as large numbers of fans are expected to turn up to watch their favorite comic character.

Meanwhile, the distinctive fictional character of Pee-wee Herman, in a grey suit along with red lipstick, came to light initially with stage performances and gradually gained immense popularity. The comic character has also been seen in a HBO special and two much acclaimed feature film in the 1980’s. The character is also known to have appeared on CBS children series ‘Pee-wee’s Playhouse’ until 1991, when the actor was taken into custody at an adult film theater as he was charged with indecent exposure.
