Pearl Jams McCready backs bathroom law for Crohn disease patientsJanuary 31st, 2009 - 5:12 pm ICT by ANI
London, January 31 (ANI): Pearl Jams Mike McCready has voiced his support for a new bill proposing emergency access to toilets for those suffering from Crohn’’s disease, a painful gastrointestinal disorder.
The guitarist, who himself has been diagnosed with the inflammatory disease of the digestive system, recently appeared before a legal committee in Washington to testify against the discomfort and embarrassment caused to the sufferers who are denied admission to use shops” private restrooms.
The 42-year-old rocker further claimed that the refusal to oblige the patients with the condition, especially the younger ones, led to “hundreds” of accidents over the past 20 years.
“I”m 42 years old. I”m doing fine. But when you”re 13 or 14 and you”re going through those years with the shame and indignation - it’’s embarrassing, the Daily Express quoted him as saying.
“Imagine the worst diarrhoea you”ve ever had and then times it by 10, with a knife in it. You have maybe a half a second to find out where a bathroom is,” he added. (ANI)
