Melbourne, Dec 24 (ANI): Pop star Peaches Geldof, whose mother Paula Yates died of a lethal drug overdose, has said that even though she loves her mother a lot, she is not following in her footsteps.

Peaches, who has a liking for wild nights out and rock star boyfriends, has often been compared to her mother who died of a drug overdose. She was just 11 at the time of her mothers death.

Geldof, however, says that she would never take encouragement from her late mothers drug addiction.

“I don”t take inspiration from my mother. She was great but she was my mother. I”m not voyeuristic into her life and I”m not trying to copy her, the Daily Telegraph quoted her as telling Hello! Magazine.

“I just want her to be at peace. I remember her being very beautiful when I was young. Those things faded as she got heavily into addiction but before then she was so witty . . . she was so fashionable. Like a star, Geldof added.

When Geldof collapsed from a suspected drug overdose in July this year, many feared that she had developed her mother’’s addictions.

Geldofs mother Paula Yates, who battled depression, drugs and alcohol, died aged 41 on September 17, 2000. (ANI)
