Paula Deen’s restaurant faces lawsuit by former worker

Savannah, Mar 6 (THAINDIAN NEWS) Paula Deen’s restaurant has been sued by a former worker who claims that she was sexually harassed. Lisa Jackson indicated in her suit that her doctor advised her to quit working at the Uncle Bubba’s Seafood and Oyster House because of the stress that she went through.

Uncle Bubba is owned and operated by Paula and her brother Bubba Heirs. In the suit, Heirs is accused by Lisa of making sexually advances towards her. She revealed that she witnessed Heirs and Paula making racist slurs.

Heirs revealed that she was promoted to the position of general manager just months after she was hired to work at the eatery. According to her, Heirs started making sexual advances towards her from then on. At a point, the suit claimed, Heirs told her “I love you” and later yelled at her.

One of the damaging accusations made in the suit is that black employees are not allowed to use the customer guestrooms where white go. She narrated an instance where a black male worker was physically assaulted by Heirs.

Daytime Emmy winner Paula allegedly called the said staff to her mansion and apologized for the incident.

Uncle Bubba has not made any comment on the story.
