Paula Abdul Quits “American Idol”: Twitter Confirms The Report

American Idol Finale BackstageAfter weeks of speculations and rumors regarding Paula Abdul’s withdrawal from America’s one of the most watched shows, “American Idol”, it has been finally declared officially, that the celebrity judge won’t be returning to the hit FOX reality series.

“With sadness in my heart I have decided not to return to IDOL. I will miss nurturing the new talent but most of all I will miss being a part of a show that I helped from day 1 become an international phenomenon,” Abdul wrote on her Twitter page. “What I want to say most, is how much I appreciate the undying support that you have showered upon me. It truly has been breathtaking,” said Abdul in her Twitter page, thus making it official that the former celebrity judge won’t be returning to the hot seat this year.

According to the inside sources, Paula was reportedly offered a contract by the FOX but it was her decision to turn it down. “Paula is actually handling the situation pretty well, she is in great spirits. She has so many offers and opportunities and has been in New York this week taking meetings,” an confidential source reported.

FOX released a statement on Tuesday night that said, “Paula Abdul has been an important part of the American Idol family of the last eight seasons and we are saddened that she has decided not to return in the show. While Paula will not be continuing with us, she is a tremendous talent and we wish her the best.”

FOX had earlier announced on Monday that judge Kara DioGuardi would return for a second season with “American Idol”.
