London, July 25 (THAINDIAN NEWS) Paul McCartney is very unhappy over the fact that footballer David Beckham has been left out of the Olympic squad. Paul also said that David was a national hero and the person who decided to leave him out of the squad is an ‘idiot’.

Paul said that David contribution to the game is enormous and he ought to have had been included in the squad and it is just unthinkable that he was left out as he is over 23 years of age.

Paul said that, “I would’ve thought first choice would be Beckham because of his huge contribution to getting the Olympics. But, you know, some idiot decided otherwise. I feel a bit sorry for the three over-23s because we’re going to be looking at them and saying, ‘That should’ve been Beckham’. Let?s face it: it?s not the World Cup. It?s not like anyone?s really going to be bothered.”

However the only consoling grace for the footballer is that, he is going to be a part of the closing ceremony. David said that he was honored to be a part of the Olympics, esp. since they are being held in London.
