May 21 (THAINDIAN NEWS) Paul McCartney, formerly of ‘The Beatles’, is making his rounds in a 2010 ‘Up & Coming’ Tour, and will be stopping by Utah in July. It will be the first time that the rocker has performed in the state, and the only other Beatle to ever do so was Ringo Starr. Ringo has played in Utah many times during his career as both a solo performer and other bands which he played with after The Beatles.
McCartney’s performance will be held at the newest huge stage in the state, at Rio Tinto Stadium. He is expected to be at the location in Sandy on Tuesday July 13. The executive vice president of events for SCP Wordlwide LLC, which is the company that built the stadium, says he is thrilled with these developments and the upcoming concert. “Obviously, this kind of a concert is a once in a lifetime opportunity,” he stated.
SCP Worldwide has worked very hard to persuade McCartney to come to Utah and perform in the new stadium for quite a while. McCartney started his ‘Up and Coming Tour’ in March, and was reportedly looking for places to take the tour which were location that he had never performed before, or places that he had not been to in a very long time. He received requests from many areas of the country. McCartney is 68 years old.
