Paul McCartney to be honored at the White House with the ‘Gershwin Prize’

Washington DC, May 25 (THAINDIAN NEWS) The Beatles star – Paul McCartney is all set to be honored at the White House with the ‘Gershwin Prize for Popular Song’. The first recipient of the award was Paul Simon in 2007.

Paul McCartney would be honored in a concert on the 2nd of June. The concert boasts of popular stars such as The Jonas Brothers, Faith Hill, Stevie Wonder, White Stripes singer and guitarist Jack White, Foo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl, Emmylou Harris, Elvis Costello and Jerry Seinfeld. The concert would be held at the ‘East Room’ of the White House. The concert would be shown on TV, but the fans would have to wait awhile, as it would be telecast on the 28th of July on PBS.

Apart from being honored by the White House, Paul McCartney is also preparing for his upcoming concerts in Utah and San Francisco. Paul McCartney is all set to give his very first performance in Utah. The show would be held at the Rio Tinto Stadium in Sandy on the 13th of July. Apart from Utah, Paul would also perform in San Francisco. His performance in San Francisco would be held after more than four decades. The last time he had performed there in the year 1966. The San Francisco show would be held on the 10th of July, at the AT&T Park.
