paul-mccartneyA true Beatles aficionado will always debate on the greatness of their members. Some may think that John Lennon was the man behind the world renowned rock n roll/pop group, The Beatles, but still no one can wipe aside the role of Sir Paul McCartney, who has provided the world with songs like “Yesterday”, “Let It Be” etc. The recent appearance of Paul McCartney at the David Letterman show enthralled the viewers, as McCartney took the audience on a trip to the “Beatles Land”.

McCartney seemed to be charming and elegant as ever as the songwriter/singer/musician spoke about the Beatles first American appearance on the same stage of the Ed Sullivan Theater 45 years ago, the groups first American tour and memories of the late pop icon, Michael Jackson.

The appearance was marked with an enthralling performance by McCartney as he performed the Beatles classic “Get Back” and one new song called “Sing The Changes” from his new album “Electric Arguments”. McCartney wowed the audience, as McCartney along with his band performed from the top of the theater’s top marquee in front of an enthralling audience.

Letterman had earlier asked McCartney whether being inside the theater makes him nostalgic regarding his first appearance at the Ed Sullivan show or not. McCartney, who was charming and humorous as ever replied by saying, “Yes, it really does actually. It was kind of scary for the first time….I had to do ‘Yesterday’, my own song, and I’d never done this. I’d always had the band with me. But suddenly they said, ‘You are doing ‘Yesterday’, so I said ‘Okay.”

McCartney performed an additional set of songs after the show for the crowd outside the theater. It included classics like “Back In The USSR”, “Band On The Run”, “Let Me Roll It”, “Helter Skelter” to name a few.
