When the 1987 classic “Dirty Dancing” had initially hit the theaters, it had been unable to strike a very deep cord among the viewers. However, with each passing time then on, the movie turned in to one of the most talked about screen ventures ever and gained an immense cult following, till it became one of the highest grosser. With “Dirty Dancing,” the movie’s lead, Patick Swayze brought dancing in fashion in Hollywood.

Swayze’s dreamlike moves, his passion for the medium and his macho appeal combined with the delicate moves, captured the wild imagination widely across the world. The movie soon gained a reputation to be on the favorite list for many. As Baby’s (Jennifer Grey) dance instructor Johnny Castle, Swayze had gained unimaginable popularity.

Speaking about the late actor, the 49 year old Grey said, “When I think of him, I think of being in his arms when we were kids - dancing, practicing the lift in the freezing lake, having a blast doing this tiny little movie we thought no-one would ever see.” She said that Swayze was a true cowboy, rough on the exterior yet possessed a soft heart.

Also, sharing fond memories of him with her followers, actress Demi Moore is supposed to have written on her Twitter page, “Patrick you are loved by so many and your light will forever shine in all of our lives. In the words of Sam to Molly, ‘It’s amazing Molly. The love inside, you take it with you.’ I will miss you.”

Even Ashton Kutcher mentioned the star on Twitter with, “Rip P Swayze.”
