Pat O’Brien’s Autobiography On Divorce, Rehab To Release In 2011

pat July 1, 2010 (Pen Men at Work): The former CBS Sports announcer Pat O’Brien is going to write an autobiography, which will elaborate on his experience in rehab, as a television anchor as well as on the painful divorce from Linda, his wife of 30 years.

The ‘Access Hollywood’ and ‘The Insider’ anchor’s autobiography will be released by St. Martin’s Press in fall 2011.

Speaking about the autobiography, O’Brien said, “My story is about my experiences as a sportscaster, on the red carpets and getting a successful recovery from the deadly disease of alcoholism, which took me almost near death.”

He added, “Few people can realize how it feels to be in the middle of firestorm, including a scandal, personal insights and these are going to be good lessons for everybody.”

In 2004, O’Brien filed for divorce, soon after entering the rehab center for alcoholism. After four years, he announced his engagement with longtime girlfriend Betsy Stephens.

Pat O’Brien earned famed by working as a CBS Sports broadcaster. He grew up in a working class family in South Dakota. He began his career with KSOO TV-Radio in his hometown of Sioux Falls. Later, he entered the entertainment industry as an anchor of ‘Access Hollywood’ on the Entertainment Tonight spinoff, ‘The Insider’.

O’Brien was officially sacked from ‘The Insider’ on 18th September, 2008 after he wrote a controversial e-mail to the co-workers abusing Lara Spencer, who replaced him as anchor.

The autobiography of Pat O’Brien is expected to be a big hit as it contains the spicy details of both his personal as well as his professional life.
