Oct 22, (THAINDIAN NEWS) The latest Vivek Oberoi flick, “Rakta Charitra”, has been released today. The movie is based on the life and struggle of an Andhra politician, Paritala Ravindra, who died in January 2005. His chapter has been closed from the Indian Political Scenario since then. However, the movie revived people’s interest on Paritala Ravindra, and now, many people want to know more about the Telugu political figure.
Many people, just know Paritala Ravi as a politician, representing Telugu Desam Party. However, as the movie revealed many untold histories and incidents of the politician’s life, the late Paritala Ravi became all more enigmatic, and right now, he is one of the most searched personalities in the net. The politician was born to Sri Ramulu and Narayanamma, a middle class couple in Anantapur District of Andhra Pradesh. His father, who was a communist, was killed by the local landlord and Factionists in Anantapur District, when Paritala Ravi was just 17 year old. Even his brother, Paritala Hari, was killed in a false encounter. These incidents inculcated a lot of skepticism and cynicism towards the society and the contemporary political scenario, that could neither sweep out the social evils, nor it could respect individual political opinion, that any healthy democracy demands.
Paritala Ravi decided to fight it out himself, resorting to the violent means and take revenge for the unjustified murder of his father and brother. He is said to be responsible for the death of Gangula Narayana Reddy, Narsanna, Yaadi Reddy, by joining the Naxalite movements. Later on he joined TDP, and was shot dead in 2005. “Rakta Charitra” gives several other details about the darker sides of his life, and Vivek Oberoi portrayed his character will full conviction. Many, who perceived Paritala Ravi, as a criminal, have now altered their opinion with sympathy.
