Parents Draw Inspiration From “Twilight” For Naming Their Babies

robMay 10, (THAINDIAN NEWS) If you thought that vampire romance novels was something that parents want to keep their children away from, then think again. According to a recently published list, the names of the characters of the vampire series “Twilight” enjoys huge popularity among parents when it comes to naming their new born baby.

A list published by the U.S. Social Security Administration has revealed that in the year 2009 an increasing number of babies were named after the leading characters of “Twilight” which is a new testament of the extensive amount of popularity that the vampire series has gained especially after the release of the movie adaptation of the novels penned down by Stephenie Meyer. As per the list, one of the most well-accepted names among the boys last year was Cullen which likely drew inspiration from the bloodsucker Edward Cullen in the series which was played with much elan by Robert Pattinson. The total number of babies that have been christened Cullen in 2009 stand at a whopping 485, moving forward by a considerable mark since 2008.

However, all the fans of Kristen Stewart need not be disappointed as the character edged by her in the vampire series, Isabella has registered the top rank in the list of the most popular names among the girls who were born last year. If that leaves you wondering that what was the most admired name among the boys in 2009 then that turns out to be none other than Cullen’s love rival, Jacob who was played by Taylor Lautner in the film adaptation of the vampire romance novel.
