pnOct 9, (THAINDIAN NEWS) The horror movie “Paranormal Activity” is presently running in limited theaters across several cities in the United States, after being released at limited screenings on Sep. 25. The “mockementary” stars Katie Featherston and Micah Sloat, a young couple who are caught in the horror of a supernatural presence in their haunted house.

The movie has been presented to the viewers by the lens of the cameras that the couple had reportedly set up in and around their house in order to capture the ghostly activity. Which is what makes this reel presentation so vivid and out of the box. The essence of the movie almost helps portray a very real ambiance, which is what draws the viewers to it.

The 2007 horror film, which as been written and directed by Oren Peli, had first come in to the scene when it had premiered at the Screamfest Film Festival(US) on Oct. 14, 2007 and the Slamdance Film Festival on January 18, 2008. It has, over the time gained a lot of prominence in the and given rise to a lot of genuine interest surrounding it, given its unique concept. Paramount Pictures is just keeping their fingers crossed and hoping that “Paranormal Activity” just turns out to be the next “Blair Witch Project”.

Which does not seem very far removed from the dreams that Paramount have woven, as the general reaction to the enterprise has already been every bit favorable as was hoped. It seems that the audiences were led to whimpering and stifling back gasps, while they sat and watched the movie unfold on the big screen.
