Oct 23, (THAINDIAN NEWS) The sequel to last year’s unexpected hit Paranormal Activity has managed to repeat the success of the first film and has also set new records. The film Paranormal Activity 2 directed by Tod Williams has also got positive critical reception in general. The camera technique used in the film follows the first film closely. The theme of a demonic force haunting a family particularly a baby boy has added a new dimension of terror to the film. The director of the movie recently talked at length about the hitherto unknown facts about the film, some of which are really interesting.
Amazing as it may sound to some of the viewers who have seen the film, there was no script for it. The director had a brief outline to proceed with the shooting and sometimes did not adhere to it as such. There was a lot of improvisation said the director. The filmmakers did not resort to any visual effect to scare the viewers and build up the suspense. This realistic approach to develop the sense of horror has worked to the movie’s advantage as is evident from the overwhelming response given to its midnight screening.
The director also said in the interview that all the actors put in their best performances but according to him it was the baby who surpassed all. The natural actions of the toddler that has been captured on the security cameras contribute a lot to the development of terror in the film. The scenes with the kid required a lot of takes and retakes to make them look realistic, said the director.
