P. F. Chang’s Rock ‘N’ Roll Arizona Marathon’s Winners Announced

rock-andJan 17, (THAINDIAN NEWS) Nearly 30,000 participants took part in Rock ‘n’ Roll Arizona Marathon, which is sponsored by P. F. Chang’s China Bistro on Sunday. The streets of three cities of Arizona, namely, Phoenix, Scottsdale and Tempe were overcrowded with anxious spectators who thronged on the streets to cheer for their favorite participants and see who wins the race at the end of the day. Josh Cox won the men’s race and Sally Meyerhoff was the female participant to win the Marathon.

The spectators were cheering for Josh Cox as he started his journey. Josh Cox completed his journey of 31.2 miles in only 2 hours, 43 minutes, 45 seconds. Solomon Kandie of Kenya became the second runner up of the event as she crossed the border 1:08 minutes after Josh Cox completed his journey. While in one way, it was a moment of celebration for Josh Cox as he won the Marathon, on the other hand, the winner missed to set a record by only 7 seconds. In his interview, the winner said that the difference of seven seconds is something hard to accept but he is happy to win this P. F. Chang’s Rock ‘N’ Roll Arizona Marathon.

Among female participants, Kara Goucher, came second in the Half Marathon and Madai Perez of Mexico won the event in 1:11:49. Though, Kara Goucher failed to become the winner of this year’s Marathon but she said that she is happy to be back on the track after so many years. Sally Meyerhoff of Tempe won the P. F. Chang’s Rock ‘N’ Roll Arizona Marathon for the first time by completing her journey in 2:37:55. Shawn Forrest of Australia took home the title of winner in men’s Half Marathon.
