October 8, 2010 (Sampurn Wire): Ozzy Osbourne, the self proclaimed prince of darkness and the front man of one of the greatest heavy metal bands of all time Black Sabbath, has gone ahead and recorded his very own version of ‘How’. This is a song from the late great John Lennon. Ozzy has recorded it to mark Lennon’s 70th birthday which falls on this Saturday.

‘How’ was, in the beginning, released in the year 1971 by Lenon. It got released as a track on the historic ‘Imagine’ album. Lennon wrote ‘How’ about the particular Primal Therapy, which he and his wife, Yoko Onno were going through at that point of time.

John Lennon, a former member of ‘The Beatles’ (arguably the greatest Rock n Roll band of all time) found immense fame thanks to his music and his band. He was, however the ‘intellectual’ among his band mates. He was just not a singer, a songwriter, a guitarist but was also a vigorous civil right activist as well as an anti-war protester.

Ozzy Osbourne, also hailing from the UK, will pay a tribute to his great fellow musician and countryman, who was murdered by an assailant in the year 1980.

‘How’ was earlier covered by Stereophonics, a popular Welsh rock-band. Ozzy will also be donating the proceeds from the sale of this song to the Amnesty International.
