Ozzy Osbourne to receive Legend of Live honour
September 18th, 2009 - 4:36 pm ICT by ANI ( Leave a comment )Washington, Sept 18 (ANI): Rockstar Ozzy Osbourne will be presented with the Legend of Live honour at the soon-to-be held Billboard Touring Awards.
The hitmaker will receive the award in New York on November 5.
The award is given to individuals who have made a significant contribution to live music.
The Rolling Stones promoter Michael Cohl, Sir Elton John and the Allman Brothers Band have been previous recipients of the honour.
“Ozzy has altered the course of rock music and live performance through his work with Black Sabbath and as a hugely popular solo artist, and his continued commitment to playing live makes him the perfect choice for the Billboard Legend Of Live award,” RayWaddell, Billboard’s executive director of content and programming, touring and live entertainment, was quoted by Contactmusic as saying.
