Washington, Dec 19 (ANI): The Writers Guild of America has revealed that it would not let its members write for the Academy Awards and the Golden Globes.

The Associated Press cited a guild source, who refused to comment when the decision had been made.

Academy Award host Jon Stewart, a writers guild member, has so far honoured the strike.

Nominee Katherine Heigl, while speaking at a screening for her movie 27 Dresses said that being a member of the Guild she has to respect the decision but is keen on going for it.

I’ve been asked by my Guild not to cross the picket line, and I really have to respect that, Usmagazine quoted Heigl, as saying.

“But I think I would feel uncomfortable doing that because I think it makes a really big statement I’m not sure I really want to make. The reality is, I really want to go so I really wish that they’d get their waiver,” she added. (ANI)
